Market, terminology and context
EPAL 2 and EPAL 3 remain distinct named products even though one footprint can be rotated to match the other’s outline.
Method and calculation
For pure floor geometry, test both orientations. For entry direction, construction or equipment compatibility, use controlled product information.
Worked example
A 2400 × 2000 mm clear rectangle takes four 1200 × 1000 footprints in a simple grid with no allowance.
What remains variable
Footprint equivalence is not product equivalence. Do not infer handling or load attributes.
