A reliable count cannot be determined from ‘20-foot container’ alone. It depends on measured clear internal dimensions, pallet format, orientation, openings, clearance and operating constraints.
Editable rectangular floor fit
Maximum input: 10,000,000 mm per side.
Straight 8 · Rotated 7 · Theoretical floor use 55%
⌊ space length ÷ pallet length ⌋ × ⌊ space width ÷ pallet width ⌋, with both 90° orientations tested.

Market, terminology and context
Published counts often assume different pallet formats, container variants or mixed layouts. Without assumptions, the number cannot be audited.
Method and calculation
Enter the actual internal rectangle and use whole-grid division for both pallet orientations.
If the clear width cannot take two pallet sides, a single column may leave a large unused strip even where total area seems adequate.
What remains variable
Geometric fit does not prove door access, safe handling, weight compliance or securement.
